Good Afternoon, Trinity Members!

Below are the announcements and verses for this week!

Announcements (Week of November 28th)

Capital Campaign ‘Trusting in the Lord III’
December 19th & 20th was Pledge Weekend, and we thank all those who have made pledges so far. If you haven’t had a chance to make one, please consider doing so now. Our mortgage payment is due every month. Just mail your pledge or drop it in the collection receptacle. We thank all our parishioners for their support. If you make an initial payment in November or December, please write Campaign III or 2023 on your check memo line so that we post it to the correct account. No pledge or contribution is too small. All are needed.

Youth Christmas event
Update on the Youth Christmas Event.  As of right now we have booked Santa and JK Photography to take pictures with Santa. We will also have a Coloring table, face painting and a snack table. We are still looking for additional ideas if you want to work a station or table, please let me know. If you have any questions, please email me at Thank you.

Angel Tree wrapping

The youth have been asked to help with wrapping gifts for the Angel Tree. We would like to do this on Saturday the 17th at 3:30 util 5:30 then we could go to the Church service together if you want to.  There will be dinner provided and if we get everything done quickly, we can play games and have some fun.  This is a good opportunity for the youth to give back to the church. I hope to see as many kids as possible. Thanks

Students in Grades 3 - 8 are welcome to join this choir. All practices will be during the school day. Announcing the 2023 Central Illinois District LC-MS Youth Bible Bowl: “Judges and Ruth.” In the best way you know how, study these two biblical books about a difficult period of history for God’s people. And talk within your circuit about holding your Circuit Bible Bowl in the weeks before the District Bible Bowl scheduled for Sunday, April 16, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Camp Cilca.

The Bible Bowl provides an opportunity for our youth (6th-12th grade) to be involved in Scripture study and thus to grow in their knowledge of God’s Word and to deepen their faith. Each circuit gets to send its top two teams to Springfield. For more information on how you can hold a Bible Bowl in your circuit, please contact Pastor Mark Eddy at Zion Lutheran Church, Taylor Ridge, Illinois.

December Food Pantry
December Food Pantry Reminder- The next Food Pantry collection will be on December 3rd and 4th.  We are currently serving 6 households, a total of 19 individuals.  Please drop off your donations in the bins in the narthex of the church on 2nd street or the Parish Center lobby at the school.  We especially need paper towels, facial tissues, and canned vegetables.  Money donations or gift cards are also welcome, please mark "Food Pantry" on the envelope.

2022 Annual Food Pantry Drive
For over twenty-six years Trinity Lutheran School has had a food drive to help stock Trinity’s pantry and also give back to our community. Unfortunately, due to COVID, we have changed it in the last few years. This year, after consulting with Roger Schlichting, we have come up with a new approach.

Each week we will collect different items. Bins will be placed in the foyer to collect these items. The monetary push will be collected in the classrooms.

Nov. 28 - Dec. 2 - canned vegetables (low sodium if possible)

Dec. 5 - 9 - cleaning supplies: laundry detergent, dish detergent, surface cleaner, trash bags

Dec. 12 - 16 - personal care items: toothbrush/toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner, shaving cream/gel, bar soap, feminine products (no travel size items)

Dec. 19 - 21 - paper goods: paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates, napkins
To promote this event, Casey’s General Store has donated an incentive for some friendly competition. The top two classes that collect the most monetary donations will each get a Pizza/Movie Party. The classes that come in third and fourth will each get a Doughnut Party. The big push for this special competition will be November 14th-22nd. Each day of the week we will collect the offerings and record each class’s donation. Daily updates will be given. On November 22nd, the winners will be announced.
As part of this effort, we are inviting the congregation to join us in giving back.
**All donations by non-school families will be divided evenly among the school classes.**

POINSETTIA TIME:  It is time to order your Christmas poinsettia to be displayed in the church sanctuaries. Once again we will be ordering white poinsettias. You may recall that

the white poinsettias have been beautiful. The cost remains at $14 each. Please make checks out to Trinity Ladies Aid. A box for ordering them will be on the welcome table at the church and the back of the Parish Hall. The deadline for ordering is December 11th. If you wish to place an order or have any questions, please contact Judy Fliege at 217-741-8647.

Young Trinity Musicians
On Saturday, December 17th, our young Trinity musicians are being invited to perform before and during the Saturday evening service.  The K-4 Kids Ensemble (violins) will perform and piano students are encouraged to join in with their solos.  In addition, students willing to sing are invited to share their talents during this time.  Please contact Ashley Rescot at (217) 816-2334 or Carol Radtke at (217) 414-2500 to sign up.  Thank you in advance for enhancing our worship service.

Trinity is pleased to offer this opportunity to take our cares, concerns and lives to God through

dedicated time in His Word and in deliberate prayer. In Scripture we repeatedly see the people of God, and Jesus Himself, set aside time to go to God in prayer. This is an example we would be wise to follow. May God guide, bless and change us in new and miraculous ways!  Our regular prayer service schedule is:
